News - 12/13/09 I appologize for the lack of updates and news as of late. After the failure of dedicated servers for MW2, we are repreparing for new games, such as Bad Company 2. Things have otherwise been going swimingly. The money used to purchase the MW2 server is now instead being diverted to a dedicated box. More info will be released at a later date when I know more details. I also wanted to state that we have our first official moderator: Corntastic. For alot of reasons, I found him to be a good candidate as a moderator, as he is on often and has proven to me over the years to be extremely level headed. That being said, he is a bit quirky but I would rather have a human then a robot as a mod. To find out what a moderator does, just go over to the staff section to read the details. Other then that, there is little news. We are not dead, and we have plans for the future. Hope to see you on the forums, be sure to say hi! News - 10/19/09 Well this week/end has been interesting. To put it bluntly, IW (developer of MW2) has decided to no longer support dedicated servers. This means there will no longer be privately owned/ran servers (including admins) for the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 game that this community was to be based upon. Simply put, that plan to base Aer out of MW2 is now officially fubared. Because of the fact that we don't have any way to host on our own MW2 server, we will have to look toward another game to host. Currently the 247$ that was dedicated to the 32 slot MW2 server is now in purgatory, so when it comes back that will be our new budget to decide what game we would like to host instead. If you have any idea what you would like to see Aer Gaming host, then please post it on the forums or email me. In other news, I am still watching and waiting for new positions to develop. There is no need to immediately distribute power (MW2 is an excellent reason as to why I waited) until I know we need the job. For the moment, I have taken on two people, Peanut for Graphics Designer and Rge (Geard) for Web Admin (There is another person called Invisionize, however that's an account that IPB can use if something goes haywired, so don't worry if you see that account in the member list.). As things start to speed up I will personally ask more people if they would like a specific job they would like to perform for Aer Gaming. If you would like to do a job that is not listed in the staff section, talk to me. The COD4 server that we test hosted is going down at the end of this month, it pretty much was a ghost town, but I was able to play with it to learn the ins and outs for administration. The plan was never to seed it or make it popular, it was just there to see what it's like. Thanks Kilo for sponsoring that for me. Means alot to me that there are others that believe in the idea I'm trying to spread. <3 News - 9/23/09 Hey guys, we have a bunch of new things occurring. I recently acquired a COD4 server to test stuff on and to chill out on, it's 30 slots. It will be gone on the opening day of MW2 so be sure to check it out before it disappears. I have also opened two positions for the 360 section for the forums: Leader and Moderator. If you feel like your up to the job, read the requirements and contact me if your interested. In other news, I will be purchasing a 75 slot ventrilo once the need arises. I expect that need to occur in the following weeks and certainly before the MW2 release. I have also created a new position: Graphics Designer (Requirements and Details to be shown soon). Hopefully the beginning of everyone's school year is going well, and I can't wait to start MW2 once it is released. I'm trying to do better with keeping the news up to date, so keep your eyes peeled. ~Wind News - 9/2/09 Thank you everyone for checking out the website and forums. Thankfully everything is working and looking fine. As a reminder, the community is now officially open and you may use the Aer. tag at your prerogative. You may join the xfire, steam, and facebook groups by going to steam/xfire/facebook.aergaming.com. For the moment, I am collecting any and all donations to supplement the new Modern Warfare 2 Server that will be online on 11/10/09.
